About Me

My name is Liana Michalakis. I am an artist living in Athens, Greece. I have been painting from a very young age, even though I do not come from an artist family. My urge to paint comes from my drive to visualize my dreams. As an example I have dreamt of my pet dog and painted my dream of her, years before she actually came into my life. At the entrance exams for the Athens Fine Arts school I came in at the top 1% of applicants.

Dreams have been a key component of surrealist art. Salvador Dali wrote the article "Anti - Material Manifesto" in which he declared: "I am studying; I want to find a way to transport my work into anti - matter". I want my art to serve the future. My vision is to make art that can awaken people to their true best selves.

In this work I strive to capture the endless human energy. I think of this in three parts: Firstly the Human Unity and Energy, secondly the Key (Balance) and thirdly the Dream.

The first part of my work consists of portraits of people of different races and all become a part of energy and cityscape. What unites the works is math.

I have done a fourth project to complete these triplets: I call it "Key Painting". And this is the second part of my work.

The third part consists of the dream and its achievement. There I show the final picture of the table with my pet. The final form of work is the core energy.
